This Handcrafted Black and White Oval Slip Cast Porcelain Vessel by Debbie Nairn is made in her Chester-based studio. Crafted from fine porcelain clay, this oval-shaped decorative vessel features a small top opening, reminiscent of round urns, and has had oxides applied which create a black and green textured finished once fired. 

Debbie uses slip casting to pour liquid clay into a plaster mould, shaping the delicate form. After smoothing and cleaning the seams and surface, the vessel is fired to produce its final finish.

Debbie's ceramics are not food-safe and should not be used in any culinary context. They are not suitable for the dishwasher or microwave.

Crafted from fine porcelain, the pieces require careful handling but are robust. Each one is unique and may have its own natural resting position. To clean, a lint-free cloth can be used to remove dust, or the piece can be hand washed with standard detergent.
