This Friend of Dorothy Gay Pride Badge from Sent with Pride has been handmade in London.

"Friend of Dorothy" is a code word for a gay man, it was used as a way of suggesting or enquiring on a mans sexual orientation whilst avoiding hostility. It became a well used term LGBTQIA+ circles during the latter half of the 20th century

It is widely believed to be a direct reference to Dorothy Gale from 'The Wizard of Oz'. The design of this badge references Dorothy's blue and white check dress and iconic shoes.
