East End Press

East End Press is a print and design studio located in Bridgeton, in Glasgow’s East End. Specializing in vibrant, handmade paper products, the studio is committed to sustainability, using entirely recycled paper and FSC-certified wood in all their creations. Each item is silk screen printed by hand, resulting in a rich, vibrant finish. The bold colors and slight imperfections in the prints highlight the beauty of the screen-printing process, giving the products their distinctive charm.

Founded in 2015 by designer and printmaker Ellie Hodesdon, East End Press began with all printing, production, and packaging handled in Glasgow. As the business grew, especially the demand for their garlands, Ellie realized the need to expand beyond her small setup. In 2018, she traveled to Jaipur, India, an area renowned for its printmaking traditions to find artisans who could help meet the growing demand while maintaining the studio’s commitment to sustainability.

Ellie partnered with a local family, who have since become close friends and continue to craft all of East End Press’s products. The studio ensures that every manufacturer in their supply chain operates under fair-trade principles, with all partners registered with SEDEX, an international organisation dedicated to maintaining ethical and responsible supply chains. Through these efforts, East End Press combines artistry with a deep commitment to sustainability and ethical production.
